Description: the product is lighting equipment used as party light with 6 RGB LEDs and a loudspeaker.

Risks: the lighting equipment involves serious risks such as burns, electric shock and fire because the cable is not properly anchored and is too thin. The size of the plug is substantially smaller than necessary. The cable could overheat, causing burns or fire. A user may touch live parts and suffer an electric shock.

The product does not comply with the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive and standard EN 60598.

Action adopted: the measures adopted by the country consists in recalling the product from end users and in withdrawing it from the market.

Annex I

2. Protection against hazards arising from the electrical equipment

Measures of a technical nature shall be laid down in accordance with point 1, in order to ensure that:

(a) persons and domestic animals are adequately protected against the danger of physical injury or other harm which might be caused by direct or indirect contact;

(b) temperatures, arcs or radiation which would cause a danger, are not produced;

(c) persons, domestic animals and property are adequately protected against non-electrical dangers caused by the electrical equipment which are revealed by experience;

(d) the insulation is suitable for foreseeable conditions.
